TAESS00001 Assessor Skill Set

Course Overview 

The Assessor Skill Set is the minimum qualification required for assessors within Australia’s national Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector.

This skill set is suitable for those seeking to work as assessors with Registered Training Organisations and/or TAFE.   The course teaches the essential vocational assessment activities including how to create, implement and manage competency-based assessment activities and processes and is made up of the three core assessment units from TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Relevant Job Roles 

The TAEASS units provide credit towards TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and is a pathway into becoming an assessor within VET.

Entry Requirements 

Access to a current or other workplace is required for the workplace based projects.  If you do not have access to a workplace you will need to consult with the Coordinator about alternative arrangements prior to enrolling in the program.

  • TAEASS401B Plan assessment activities and processes.
  • TAEASS402B Assess competence.
  • TAEASS403B Participate in Assessment Validation.
